Duties and Responsibilities of the Directorate of Foreign Affairs Department

Duties, authorities and responsibilities of the President of Foreign Affairs are as follows:

a) To make the preparations for all kinds of written communication, contacts and cooperation of the Municipality with foreign countries and to ensure that these contacts are made according to the opinions of the Ministry of Foreign Affair and approval of the Ministry of Domestic Affairs.

b) To exchange all kinds of information with the local managers of cities in foreign countries for the presentation and development of the City and to ensure strengthening of this through mutual visits.

c) To work to being members of local management unions according to the interests of the City and submit them to the Authority.

ç) To arrange international symposiums and conferences related to local managements and to ensure participation in such international symposiums and conferences held in foreign countries.

d) To ensure coordination with other units in the relations of chiefs of foreign missions and other international organizations with out Municipality in Ankara.

e) To follow all the works and procedures related to the City within the harmonization process of our country with EU, to render Ankara harmonious with the capitals of EU countries by working in coordination with other units, to exert efforts to carry the relations to a more advanced level.
