
It was established in 1959 as National Park. It is both advantage and disadvantage that it is located close to Ankara. It is located within the Territory of Kizilcahamam County and 80 km to the center of Ankara.
Its land is a volcanic site. Therefore, there many hot and cold water sources inside it and they are also utilized for the thermal spring tourism. Its highest point is Arhul Hill which is 1789 high. There are mostly Scotch pine (65%), Black Pine (24%), Fir Tree (6%) and Oak (5%) within its forest formation. It has fertile vegetation from the point of flora. 800 acres of the National Park land is the forest area and its 250 acres is the open area. 1/3 of the site is arranged for the utilization and its 2/3 is arranged for the protection site. There are animals such as bear, jackal, and wild boar and bird kinds over 35 at the National Park area. There are rock partridge, partridge, falcon, pheasant, quail and pigeon at the hatchery which is established as a subsidiary to the Park. There are places such as 16 km freeway, administration building, house of accommodation, café, spring water establishment, tourist hotel, etc. inside the Park. |
